Attorney Andrew Palmer
Mr. Palmer is a native of Burke County. He graduated from Burke County High School having played football as a defensive lineman and helped win the first Region Championship in 2008 and 2009. He graduated from Augusta State University, magna cum laude, in 2013. Mr. Palmer received his Juris Doctorate from Georgia State College of Law in 2017 having served as articles editor for the Georgia State Law Review. He has always wanted to fight for the people. He had the opportunity to challenge the IRS by contesting the federal tax bills of low-income Georgians. He successfully argued before the United States Tax Court, removed federal tax liens, and saved his clients thousands of dollars. For these efforts he received the Atlanta Bar Foundation’s Senator Paul D. Coverdell Tax Clinic award and the Trammell Foundation Scholarship.
As a former prosecutor, he has handled misdemeanor and felony criminal cases with criminal trials from drug possession to burglary, aggravated assault, and murder. Mr. Palmer also has experience in complex civil issues. Prior to becoming a prosecutor, he interned with the Cochran Firm in Atlanta where he assisted in civil rights cases, premises liability, and slip-and-fall cases. Mr. Palmer will use this experience and insight as a former prosecutor to fight for his client’s civil and constitutional rights with a concentration on Criminal Law, Civil Rights Litigation, Parole Rights and Personal Injury Cases.
Mr. Palmer believes in community involvement, empowerment and has the goal of using his law degree to serve the community. As a former prosecutor and associate attorney in the Law Offices of Tanya D. Jeffords and Associates, he has experience with both complex civil and criminal cases. He was recently appointed by a unanimous vote of the judges of the Superior Court of the Augusta Judicial Circuit to serve as the Chief Magistrate Judge of the Burke County Magistrate Court, replacing the deceased magistrate the Honorable Sterling Wimberly. He currently serves on the advisory board of the Burke County Family YMCA and is a member of the Burke County Law Library Board of Trustees. He has served on the advisory boards of My Brother’s Keeper – Augusta, and the Charles Henry Terrell Academy. He also tutors kids at the MACH Academy – Augusta, and is a board member of Dream Builders of America’s Youth, Inc. In his leisure time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his family in Burke County.

Andrew Palmer is an attorney licensed to practice in the State and Federal Courts of Georgia. He earned a Juris Doctorate from Georgia State College of Law in 2017. Prior to law school, Mr. Palmer attended Augusta University where he graduated with a dual degree Magna Cum Laude, in 2013. He currently serves as an Associate Attorney.
